Restaurants

Many of the restaurants of Chincoteague are iconic. Vacationers make a yearly ritual of visiting these family owned establishments which serve the same familiar delicious dishes every year - comfort food ala Chincoteague.  Local seafood is always a good bet, and Chincoteague is world famous for fried oysters. Be sure to make reservations for dinner. Even in the off season, you need reservations to get into most of the restaurants at dinnertime, unless you plan to eat after 830 pm.

Somewhat pricy, with a casually elegant atmosphere, serving a variety of carefully prepared dishes. The bouillabaisse is a great choice. Specialties include oysters rockefeller. oysters romanoff, clams casino, seafood pastas, fresh grilled fish and a full line of veal dishes and hand-cut steaks. Over the summer, A.J's is open for lunch and dinner. Great for special occasions.
